Prominent Ethiopian singer Muluken Melese has died at the age of 65, it has been reported.
The news was first announced by Ethiopian magazine, the Addis Standard, and radio station, Sheger FM.
Melese was known for songs, Menew Kerefede, Yeregeme Lebe and Nanu Nanu Ney.
His career began in 1966, singing in bars and nightclubs. In 1972 he recorded his first song on vinyl, Hedetch Alu. Most recently he was living in the US, in Washington DC.
